Maggie Fitzgerald, a flimsy thirty-one year old waitress from the excessively lower classes and with a dysfunctional loser race, decides to make a difference end boxing. She convinces the experienced deadened boxing trainer Frankie Dunn to coach her and have ~ing her manager, with the support of his long-cultivated partner Eddie Scrap-Iron Dupris, who sees her in posse as a boxer.
