Gimmicks I Hate: Part 1

So, apparently its the new gimmick to put hidden content after the credits for games and movies.

Now...im not averse to watching the credits, hell, ive grown up with my dad waiting through ALL the credits at every movie we go to. I wonder to myself...is he looking for someone he knows? At any rate, I think everyone who works hard should have their name put on their products. Especially when it is great intellectual property such as music, games and TV/Movies. However, forcing consumers to watch your credits in order to partake in all the content there is to offer is becoming old.

When halo 3 did it, i chuckled. Such as the first time i saw fast and the furious or X men 3 and stayed through the credits. Sure, a little gem here or there to further the story. But after beating Call of Duty 4 last night i felt a bit of accomplishment. I felt like i did really well with the content.

Today, i was reading some reviews and found out that there is a "hidden mission" if you watch through the credits. While i think IW did a great job with the game, this rubs me the wrong way. If there is a mission in the game thats an epilogue, then frigging put it as an epilogue, not a hidden mission people only can play after stroking your ego.

Maybe im just in a shit mood today, but man. This really irritated me. I have a buddy who worked on Gears of War, and i watched the credits to see him and see his name cause i know him. Watching credits of people i dont know and a listing of names that mean nothing to me....sorry guys. I appreciate your work, but dont make me read your name like its high school graduation.
